Portishead Multi Terrain 10 km Race
Our Multi Terrain race takes in the coastal attractions of Portishead starting at the Lake Grounds. A 5km loop of the grounds and East Wood sets you up nicely for a kilometre along the Portishead Coast path before climbing the hill to Nore Road and making your way back to the start at the Lake Grounds. Watch out for the sting in the tail as you pass close to the finish line and do a final lap of the lake grounds.
A children's fun run is also held immediately before the main race.
The Multi-Terrain 10k is open to 15 years and older. The course is designed to be within the capabilities of any normal fit runner or jogger. The course uses sections of tarmac road, woodland and coastal paths in and around the Portishead Lake Grounds. Time limit 90 minutes. Remember the aim is to participate, to enjoy and to finish the course – if necessary walk the hard bits, others will.
The Family Fun Run will be a course around the cricket ground avoiding all roads and hazards, making it ideal for children, Mums and Dads.
Due to the nature of the course it is not suitable for wheelchairs or runners with dogs.
Current records are:
Male 35:38 set by Julian Emery in 2009 and Female 39:27 set by Nicola Brookland in 2014.
Race Numbers will be available for collection on the day.
Entries on the day must be made prior to 10am. Registration will be open at the Cricket Pavilion on the Lake Grounds from 9am – first come first served!
